Mental health is a widely-recognized and increasingly-acknowledged domain of human experience. In recent years, mental health has become a topic of increasing conversation and public interest. The World Health Organization (WHO) recognises that mental health is “a state of well-being characterized by positive emotions, attitudes, and behaviours.” Mental health encompasses a broad range of issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, bipolar disorder, addiction, eating disorders etc.
It can be difficult to accessing specialist mental health services due to geographical location or financial constraints. One in three people will experience some form of mental health issue in their lifetime. This means that you are not alone. Mental health should not be stigmatized or considered less worthy than physical health. It is an important part of our overall wellbeing and we should do everything we can to support those who are struggling.
